Destructive forces within the Church: Attacks on parental rights are already on the agenda of the Synod on the Family writes Voice of the Family in an article published on August 20. Against the orthodox praxis of allowing even multiple divorce Peckstadt seems to defend the indissolubility of marriage. Quote: “During the centuries, the Church remained faithful to the principle to which Saint Paul refers, according to which a new matrimony is an aberration.”

Christians Only: Catholic Slovakia will only accept Christians refugees from Syria. The country is due to receive 200 people under a EU plan. Interior ministry spokesman Ivan Netik said Muslims would not be accepted because they would not feel at home since there are no mosques in Slovakia.

Luther Arrives in Rome: In September a square near the Colloseum in Rome will be named after the German heresiarch Martin Luther. The idea was launched five years ago by the German Lutheran parish of the city.
