The blog Creative Minority report has commented that the Pope’s decision not to allow the Franciscans of the Immaculate to use the extraordinary form any longer – quote: “Imagine for a second that you are a priest or a religious or even a lay person attending mass. You have reasonable concerns, doubts and questions. But, all that is being ignored. No one from the Vatican is there to listen to you. Then imagine it is the year 1970...

The Italian historian Roberto de Mattei pointed to some “irregularities” in the case of the Franciscans of the Immaculate. Cardinal Braz de Aviz, who is taking action against the Franciscans with an iron fist, at the same time pleads for understanding and dialogue with respect to the controversial American Women Religious. The nuns preach gender ideology while the Franciscans preach and practice chastity and penance. De Mattei argues that there is a certain hostility against Tradition inside the Church. Why? According to him, Tradition is in a period of great expansion especially among the youth and this is causing jealousy.

Pro-life groups made an investigation amid allegations that Catholic Relief Services is promoting abortifacients and contraception in Madagascar. Bishops and clergy where interviewed and many of them complained about the activity of the organization. Archbishop Désiré Tsarahazana of Toamasina (Tamatave) said: “Without my knowledge,... Catholic Relief Services was working in my diocese on an artificial contraception project... the Catholic people in the area heard about it and said: “What’s that all about? Aren't they supposed to be ‘Catholic’??” Fr. Liva, Pastor at St. Thérèse Parish in Tamatave said Catholic Relief Services’s participation in artificial-contraception-promotion programs is the reason that the organization mainly hires Protestants, who have no objections against family planning.

Transparency: On Wednesday, the Institute for Religious Works – the Vatican Bank - launched its website: www.ior.va. In an interview with Vatican Radio, president Ernst von Freyberg spoke about the bank's objectives – quote: “It is an important part of transparency to launch a website,” he said. It is – quote - to tell our customers, the Church and the interested public what we are doing, how our reform efforts are progressing and what the scope of our work is.” Freyberg hopes that the website will also create a platform to communicate with journalists and the media.”
