A lovely alabaster statue of St George slaying the dragon from St Peter's church in Nottingham. Although this statue is part of a First World War memorial, carved in 1922 by Howard of Oxford, the quality of the 20th-century carving is a fitting reminder of the medieval alabaster industry that was once the pride of Nottingham.
