Pope Francis celebrated Mass of Our Lord's Supper Holy Thursday among the young inmates of Rome's juvenile prison, Casal del Marmo. During the Mass the Pope preformed the Washing of the Feet, with 12 young offenders of different nationalities and religions. As a thank you, the prisoners gave the Pope a wooden Cross and a Kneeler, made in the Casal del Marmo workshop. A total of 46 young people are currently in the institution: 35 males and 11 females, eight of whom are Italians and 38 foreigners, mostly North Africans and Slavs. The Mass was celebrated in the prison chapel and the Pope was accompanied by Cardinal Vicar Agostino Vallini, the prison chaplain Father Gaetano Greco, two deacons and two se ...
