El Papa anuncia la creación de nuevos cardenales.
(RV).- Después de la oración del Ángelus de este domingo, el Santo Padre Francisco anunció los nombres de los nuevos cardenales que creará en el Consistorio del próximo 14 de febrero:

Como ha sido anunciado, el próximo 14 de febrero tendré la alegría de celebrar un Consistorio, durante el cual voy a nombrar 15 nuevos Cardenales, quienes proviniendo de 14 Naciones de cada continente, manifiestan el vínculo inseparable entre la Iglesia de Roma y las Iglesias particulares presentes en el mundo.
El domingo 15 de febrero presidiré una celebración solemne con los nuevos Cardenales, mientras que el 12 y 13 de febrero celebraré un consistorio con todos los Cardenales para reflexionar sobre las orientaciones y propuestas para la reforma de la Curia romana.
Los nuevos Cardenales son:

El anuncio lo realizó el Papa Francisco hoy, tras el rezo del Ángelus dominical, en la Plaza de San Pedro. El Consistorio en el que será creado Cardenal Mons. Suárez Inda se realizará el 14 de febrero de este año.
Junto al Arzobispo de Morelia serán creados otros 19 Cardenales.
En un comunicado difundido hoy, los Obispos de México expresaron su agradecimiento “con Dios Nuestro Señor por este don”, al tiempo que manifestaron “nuestra gratitud al Papa Francisco por este gesto de amor y cercanía a nuestra patria”.
La CEM felicitó además “a la Arquidiócesis de Morelia por esta distinción y pedimos a Santa María de Guadalupe que interceda por nuestro nuevo Cardenal, cuya generosa labor pastoral reconocemos con gratitud”.

Drei Asiaten, drei Lateinamerikaner, zwei Afrikaner, zwei aus Ozeanien und fünf Europäer: Papst Franziskus hat an diesem Sonntag nach dem Angelusgebet die Namen der Bischöfe bekannt gegeben, die er Mitte Februar zu Kardinälen erheben wird. Außerdem ernennt er fünf Kardinäle, die bereits über achtzig sind und deswegen nicht mehr wählen dürfen, unter ihnen auch einen Deutschen: den ehemaligen Vatikandiplomaten Erzbischof Karl-Joseph Rauber.
Mit der Ernennung von fünfzehn Papstwählern steigt damit die Zahl der Wahlberechtigten auf 123 (Im Augenblick sind es 110 Wahlberechtigte, bis Februar werden noch zwei weitere die Altersgrenze erreichen), Papst Franziskus hält sich also an die Zahl von 120 wahlberechtigten Mitgliedern des Kardinalskollegiums, auch wenn er sie leicht überschreitet. Insgesamt hat der Papst fünfzehn Kardinäle aus vierzehn Ländern ausgewählt, von denen sechs bisher nicht im Kardinalskollegium vertreten waren, besonders Tonga, die Kapverdischen Inseln oder Myanmar fallen auf, weil die Katholiken dort in der Minderheit sind oder nur eine kleine Gemeinschaft bilden. Die vatikanische Kurie ist mit einer Ernennung vertreten, Erzbischof Mamberti, der von Papst Franziskus aus dem Diplomatischen Dienst zum Leiter eines der Vatikangerichte befördert wurde, wird Kardinal.
Erzbischof Karl-Joseph Rauber, der einzige Deutschsprachige der Ernannten, gehörte ursprünglich zum Klerus des Bistums Mainz. Während seines Studiums in Rom absolvierte er gleichzeitig die Diplomatenakademie des Vatikan. Während seiner Laufbahn als Diplomat war Erzbischof Rauber unter anderem Nuntius in Uganda, in der Schweiz, in Liechtenstein, in Ungarn und Moldawien und zuletzt in Belgien und Luxemburg. Anfang der 90er Jahre war er der Leiter der Diplomatenakademie in Rom.
Das Konsistorium zur Erhebung der Kardinäle findet am 14. Februar statt, davor werden die Kardinäle gemeinsam über die Reform der Kurie sprechen. Es ist das zweite Mal, dass Papst Franziskus Kardinäle ernennt.

(Vatican Radio) At the Angelus on Sunday, Pope Francis announced the names of fifteen Archbishops and Bishops whom he will raise to the dignity of the Cardinalate on February 14, 2015. In addition, the Holy Father announced that five retired Archbishops and Bishops “distinguished for their pastoral charity in the service of the Holy See and of the Church” would also be made Cardinals.

(Vatican Radio) At the Angelus on Sunday, Pope Francis announced the names of fifteen Archbishops and Bishops whom he will raise to the dignity of the Cardinalate on February 14, 2015. In addition, the Holy Father announced that five retired Archbishops and Bishops “distinguished for their pastoral charity in the service of the Holy See and of the Church” would also be made Cardinals.
Below, please find the complete text of the Pope’s announcement, with the names of all those set to be elevated to the Cardinalate:
“As was already announced, on February 14 next I will have the joy of holding a Concistory, during which I will name 15 new Cardinals who, coming from 14 countries from every continent, manifest the indissoluble links between the Church of Rome and the particular Churches present in the world.
“On Sunday February 15 I will preside at a solemn concelebration with the new Cardinals, while on February 12 and 13 I will hold a Consistory with all the Cardinals to reflect on the orientations and proposals for the reform of the Roman Curia.
