Liturgy of Sunday 12 May - Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord into Heaven
"We were made for Heaven, we cannot live chasing dust!” In this way, dear brothers and sisters, we would describe the meaning that the Solemnity of the Ascension into Heaven of the Lord has for us if we had to do so with Pope Francis' words. In fact, God the Father in Christ, through the Holy Spirit, wants to help us make the last "leap forward" in the history of the universe and transform us from earthly men into heavenly ones to live eternally with Him in Holy Paradise. It is this hope that makes us capable of living intensely, with serenity and commitment, even a present, at times, full of disappointments, suffering and unknowns because, as Saint Paul would say, everything works for good for those who love God!
