La sera del sabato Maria Maddalena, Maria madre di Giacomo, e Salòme comprarono gli aromi per imbalsamare il corpo morto di Gesù.
Il giorno dopo, di buon mattino, arrivano al sepolcro quando il sole è già sorto (Mc 16, 1 — 2).
Entrando, rimangono costernate perché non trovano il corpo del Signore. — Un giovane, in bianche vesti, dice loro: Non temete, so che cercate Gesù Nazareno: non est hic, surrexit enim sicut dixit, non è qui, perché è risorto come aveva predetto (Mt 28, 5).
E' risorto! — Gesù è risorto: non è più nel sepolcro. — La Vita ha sconfitto la morte.
E' apparso alla sua Santissima Madre. — E' apparso a Maria di Magdala, pazza d'amore. — E a Pietro e agli altri apostoli. — E a te e a me, che siamo suoi discepoli e più pazzi della Maddalena: quante cose gli abbiamo detto!
Non vogliamo mai più morire a causa del peccato. Che la nostra risurrezione spirituale sia eterna.
— E prima di terminare la decina, tu hai baciato le piaghe dei suoi piedi… , e io più audace — perché più bambino — ho posato le mie labbra sul suo costato aperto.
Al caer la tarde del sábado, María Magdalena y María, madre de Santiago, y Salomé compraron aromas para ir a embalsamar el cuerpo muerto de Jesús. —Muy de mañana, al otro día, llegan al sepulcro, salido ya el sol. (Marc., XVI, 1 y 2.) Y entrando, se quedan consternadas porque no hallan el cuerpo del Señor. —Un mancebo, cubierto de vestidura blanca, les dice: No temáis: sé que buscáis a Jesús Nazareno: non est hic, surrexit enim sicut dixit, —no esta aquí, porque ha resucitado, según predijo. (Math., XXVIII, 5.)
¡Ha resucitado! —Jesús ha resucitado. No está en el sepulcro. —La Vida pudo más que la muerte.
Se apareció a su Madre Santísima. —Se apareció a María de Magdala, que está loca de amor. —Y a Pedro y a los demás Apóstoles. —Y a ti y a mí, que somos sus discípulos y más locos que la Magdalena: ¡qué cosas le hemos dicho!
Que nunca muramos por el pecado; que sea eterna nuestra resurrección espiritual. —Y, antes de terminar la decena, has besado tú las llagas de sus pies..., y yo más atrevido —por más niño— he puesto mis labios sobre su costado abierto.
When evening fell on the Sabbath, Mary Magdalen and Mary, the mother of James, and Salome bought spices that, going, they might anoint the dead body of Jesus. —Very early on the following day, when the sun has already risen, they come to the sepulchre (Mark 16:1-2). And upon entering they are dismayed, for they do not find the body of Our Lord. —A youth, clothed in white, says to them: Fear not. May we never die through sin; may our spiritual resurrection be eternal. —And before this decade is over, you have kissed the wounds on His feet..., and I, more daring —because I am more a child—, have placed my lips upon His open side.
