Benedict XVI: "My thoughts go to China and the people affected the serious earthquake that caused extensive loss of lives, injuries and severe damage. I pray for the victims and am spiritually near those who are suffering from such severe disasters. For them, I beg God for relief of suffering and courage in adversity.
I hope that widespread solidarity will not be lacking."
