Unforeseeable Consequences: The economist Luca M. Possati has published in the Osservatore Romano a sharp criticism of the deal between the EU and Greece. For him the deal shows that the will of a popular vote counts little in the EU and that decisions are made “in the narrow circles of the palaces”. Possati forcasts that this outcome, rather than to dampen socalled populism and anti-European forces, inside and outside Greece, will lead to their radicalization with unforeseeable consequences.
