Doubts About the Beatification
Vatican
Guido Horst is a well known German Catholic journalist. On March 2nd he mentioned in the Catholic daily “Die Tagespost” doubts concerning the beatification of Pope John Paul II. Both, Horst and “Die Tagespost”, are close to the positions of Pope Benedict XVI. Horst points out that the scandal surrounding the founder of the Legionaries of Christ could fire back on the forthcoming beatification. Horst is also concerned about documents shedding light on the ties between the Vatican and the Catholic Polish union Solidarnosc. These documents were transported to Krakow by now Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz and have not been screened for the beatification process. Revthree,

I am also a fan of C.S. Lewis and thank you for posting an interesting letter from the "devil".

Radical Traditionalism (which means different things to different people) is, in my view, not at play with Assisi but common sense and showing respect for the traditions of Catholicism are. At what price is inte- religious dialogue and what have been the results other than the Jews feeling that they have a right to interfere with our liturgy and influence who we do or do not canonize (Pius XII). What do you think the Jews would do if we tried to influence Judaism in the same manner that they have (successfully) influenced Catholicism? In the spirit of interreligious dialogue, what if we ask the Jews to include an intercessory prayer to the Virgin and ask for mercy from her Son, Jesus the Christ on Rosh Hashanah ?

If you say they would scream like scalded dogs and publicize the lack of civility and tack of these idiotic Catholics, I believe you would be correct.

However, that discussion is for another time.

See you then.
