"Das ist das ewige Leben: dich, den einzigen wahren Gott, zu erkennen und Jesus Christus, den du gesandt hast." (Joh 17,3) In einem Lied heißt es: Das Höchste meines Lebens ist Dich kennen, Herr! Ja, es gibt nichts Schöneres als die tiefen Geheimnisse Gottes ergründen zu dürfen: Wie die Vögel sich in die Lüfte zu erheben, um die Höhen Gottes zu erahnen und wie die Fische ins Meer einzutauchen, um die Tiefen Gottes zu bestaunen. Das Studieren der Bücher bewirkt lediglich Kopfwissen, doch wenn wir – wie Maria - das Wort Jesu im Herzen bewahren und darüber nachdenken, schenkt uns der hl. Geist eine tiefe Herzensweisheit. Als er dort die Folterungen und Tötungen in der Christenverfolgung unter Kaiser Galerius miterlebte, ließ er sich taufen und bekannte sich zum Christentum, worauf er selbst durch siedenes Pech sterben musste.
