The Polish Golgotha in Wołyń

Over 1,500 Polish settlements in Volhynia were completely destroyed. Between 1943 and 1946, Ukrainian nationalists murdered up to approximately 100,000 Poles in Volhynia, Eastern Lesser Poland, and the Lublin region. They perished in nearly 4,000 localities. To this day, the majority of the victims have not received exhumation, individual commemoration, or a Christian burial. Their remains still lie in unmarked graves, killing pits, forests, fields, and the sites of villages that no longer exist.
Historian Dr. Leon Popek described the tragedy of the Polish inhabitants of Volhynia and Eastern Lesser Poland—as well as the dramatic struggle to preserve the memory of the victims—in an article titled "Memory of Volhynia and Eastern Lesser Poland," published in *Biuletyn IPN* (IPN Bulletin) No. 4/2017. The researcher not only highlighted the scale of the genocide perpetrated by the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army but also outlined the fate of the locations …More

Again he prayed and taught; his words came forth from his lips like fire and light, and entered into each of the Apostles, with the exception of Judas. He took the paten with the pieces of bread (I do not know whether he had placed it on the chalice) and said: ‘Take and eat; this is my Body which is given for you.’ He stretched forth his right hand as if to bless, and, whilst he did so, a brilliant light came from him, his words were luminous, the bread entered the mouths of the Apostles as a brilliant substance, and light seemed to penetrate and surround them all, Judas alone remaining dark. Jesus presented the bread first to Peter, next to John and then he made a sign to Judas to …More

Eastern events of recent years. "In 2013", said the Russian Patriarch, "the heads of local Orthodox Churches came to Moscow to celebrate the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, and when they met Vladimir Putin, one of the strongest messages was the request that Russia should accept to take part in the protection of Christians in the Middle East. I am pleased", Kirill added, "that this happened, and thanks to Russia's intervention, the genocide of Christians was stopped". The Head of the Russian Church confirmed the intention of the Patriarchate of Moscow to contribute to the humanitarian aid of Middle Eastern populations, and also to the reconstruction of "places of worship, monasteries, monuments, including Muslim monuments and historical monuments".

ASIA/MIDDLE EAST - The Patriarch of Moscow: Russian intervention in Syria saved Christians from

sportCafè24.com Moscow (Agenzia Fides) – Thanks to Russia's military intervention in the Syrian conflict, the "genocide" of Christians was stopped. And now, the Russian Orthodox Church will take on the task of supporting the reconstruction of Syrian churches, but also of mosques and historical monuments. This was stated by Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and all the Russias, in the traditional television interview broadcast on Rossija channel 1 on Sunday 7 January, the day when Russian Orthodox Christians celebrated Christmas. In the interview, focusing on the condition and recent trials the Middle Eastern Christian communities have had to face, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church also reproposed personal memories useful to account for the Russian approach regarding the Middle Eastern events of recent years. "In 2013", said the Russian Patriarch, "the heads of local Orthodox Churches came to Moscow to celebrate the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, and when they met Vladimir …

12. The Departure of Richardis of Stade.
[With the various difficulties faced by the new community, some of the nuns decided to leave the Rupertsberg, Sometimes for positions elsewhere. In 1151 Richardis ofStade was appointed abbess of Bassum, in the diocese Of Bremen, where her brother was Archbishop. Hildegard, for various reasons, including her personal affection for Richardis, opposed the appointment. The Roman Rite Returns to Another Monastery: Today, twelve Benedictine monks from Le Barroux officially established a new monastic community at Notre-Dame de Bellefontaine Abbey in western France. Founded in the early 12th century, the abbey was home to Trappist monks from 1816 until their departure in 2025. Fr. Raphaël, the new prior, paid tribute to the departing community: "The monastery is in very good condition. The brothers cared for it until the very end, always hoping they could remain." And: "Our liturgy will be celebrated in Latin and Gregorian chant. There will be those who like it and those who do not. Each person must discern for himself."

What I don't understand is why no prelate in the Vatican has taken care to do what needs to be done.

Jesus Isn't One Savior Among Many
The gospel reading emphasizes the importance of acknowledging Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God, as the foundation of the Church. This belief is crucial for salvation, as Jesus is the only means of salvation, not just one among many. The Church, established by Jesus, is the means through which this saving work continues, and its mission is to spread the truth and love of Jesus to all.

God Bless you Father. Please take a moment to pray for all the unborn babies in danger of abortion. As you know the condemnation of abortion is the latest, most recent infallible dogma of the Catholic Church. This was done by Evangelium Vitae in 1995 with the same authority as all the Marian dogmas and the founding of the Catholic Church by Christ. JMJ

Market Analyst Tom Luongo says Trump isn't fighting Iran to control the Strait of Hormuz; he's using the Strait to break Europe's ability to finance the Ukraine war. Most people see Iran and Ukraine as two separate conflicts, but Tom thinks they're the same war being fought on different fronts. His argument is that oil is the collateral that underpins the modern economy. The more expensive and uncertain energy becomes, the harder it is for European governments to borrow cheaply, keep their industries competitive, and continue funding Ukraine at the current pace.
That's why he thinks the Strait of Hormuz matters so much, because whoever controls the world's most important energy chokepoint also influences the financial foundations that wars are fought on. Trump can't simply announce the end of the Ukraine war, even if he wants to, because too many powerful interests are invested in keeping the conflict going.
So instead of attacking the war directly, Tom believes …More
