Syrian home care worker told 80-year-old victim her vagina ‘doesn’t look that used’ during home visit sexual assault in Sweden

A Syrian-born home care worker in the Swedish city of Vänersborg has been sentenced to one year in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting an 80-year-old woman under his care, according to a ruling by the Vänersborg District Court.
The 48-year-old man, a father of six who arrived in Sweden during the 2015 migrant crisis and obtained Swedish citizenship in October 2024, was found guilty of assaulting the elderly woman during a home care visit in August last year. As a Swedish citizen, he cannot be deported under current legislation.
SVT reported that the man must also pay the victim 100,000 SEK, around €9,440 in compensation.
According to court proceedings cited by Samnytt, the accused spent an extended period inside the woman’s home, during which he reportedly commented on her house, asked about her marital status, and inquired whether he could rent a room there.
The woman later told investigators the man pressed his finger against her genitals, saying he “drilled,” “…

Carnival Eucharist in Düren, Germany: Last Sunday, Rev Toni Straeten celebrated a carnival Eucharist in the church St Marien in Düren, Aachen Diocese. He delivered his sermon in a clown costume with red nose. The Novus Ordo Eucharist included carnival songs. Aachen Diocese is currently ruined by Bishop Helmut Dieser.

Bishop of Malaga: Blessing homosexuals "who have a relationship plan is a step forward"

Bishop of Malaga (Spain), Monsignor José Antonio Satué -promoted to the episcopate by Francis, who appointed him Bishop of Teruel; and appointed Bishop of Malaga by Leo, who confirmed him as a member of the Dicastery for Bishops- "believes" that "the blessing of people who have a same-sex relationship project is, in my view, a step forward ."
The prelate made this statement in an interview with the newspaper Málaga Hoy , adding that, since the existence of undocumented couples "is undeniable," "we will certainly have to find a way to better incorporate this reality into our practice."
When asked "whether homosexuality is a sin," Monsignor Satué responds, as the Church teaches, that "being homosexual is not a sin," although he doesn't clarify whether homosexual acts are. "Pope Francis's contribution has been wonderful, because he has made us realize something very important: the Gospel, the life of faith, is not just for those who consider themselves saints , not just for those who are …More

Bishop Stika of Knoxville Dies at 68 - Requiescat in pace

Monsignor Rick Stika, former Bishop of Knoxville, died at age 68 on February 17. He struggled with health issues for a long time, including obesity, diabetes, and heart problems.
Stika led the diocese for nearly 15 years. In June 2023, he resigned at the request of Pope Francis amid controversy surrounding his leadership.
He was born in St. Louis in 1957 and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of St. Louis in 1985. Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Knoxville in 2009.
Bishop Stika’s Strange Travel Partner
His tenure became turbulent in 2021 when he admitted to interfering in a diocesan investigation into allegations of homosexual assault involving the Polish seminarian Wojciech Sobczuk.
Stika claimed that he believed the accused was innocent.
However, fiscal records from the Knoxville diocese indicate that, between 2018 and 2020, Stika allocated $4,000 in diocesan funds in the form of cash gifts to Sobczuk. Stika also directed the diocese to purchase a $2,000 laptop for Sobczuk. …More

WASHINGTON, Feb 17 (Reuters) - The Vatican will not participate in U.S. President Donald Trump's so-called "Board of Peace" initiative, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican's top diplomatic official, said on Tuesday while adding that efforts to handle crisis situations should be managed by the United Nations.
Pope Leo, the first U.S. pope and a critic of some of Trump's policies, was invited to join the board in January.

Under Trump's Gaza plan that led to a fragile ceasefire in October, the board was meant to supervise Gaza's temporary governance. Trump thereafter said the board, with him as chair, would be expanded to tackle global …

"Leo XIV Is Advancing Synodality in an Exciting Way" - Cardinal

Francis’s “passionate commitment to changing things” and Leo’s “ministry of unity” are “perfectly complementary”, English pro-homosexual Cardinal Timothy Radcliffe told Repubblica.it on February 16.
Leo XIV entrusted Cardinal Radcliffe with the introductory meditation for the January Consistory.
When asked if Leo XIV will continue or correct Francis’s synodal impulse, Radcliffe replied that the synod is continually evolving: "Leo XIV is already advancing synodality in an exciting way."
A Few Catholics Make A Lot of Noise
Progressive Cardinal Radcliffe stated that the polarization between “traditionalists” and “progressives” is foreign to Catholicism. He added that "there are only a few people who fall into this trap, although they make a lot of noise."
In response to being labeled progressive, Cardinal Radcliffe attacks: "Those who condemn me usually haven't read anything I've written. As a Catholic, I cannot accept being put in such a small box. As the Australian novelist Richard …More

“Everyone, everyone, everyone is welcome.” Just like the wedding feast of Matt 22, all are welcomed but those "without a wedding garment" will be cast into the outer darkness.
Why is it a "garment"? Because it covers our shabby, fallen, natural selves with the beauty of adopted sons and daughters.
A man like this is to be doubly pitied since not only has he rejected the wedding garment but has beguiled others to do the same.

Epstein files suggest acts that may amount to crimes against humanity, say UN experts

Epstein files suggest acts that may amount to crimes against humanity, say UN experts

Millions of files related to the convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein suggest the existence of a “global criminal enterprise” that carried out acts meeting the legal threshold of crimes against humanity, a panel of independent experts appointed by the United Nations human rights council has said.
The experts said crimes outlined in documents released by the US justice department were committed against a backdrop of supremacist beliefs, racism, corruption and extreme misogyny. The crimes, they said, showed a commodification and dehumanisation of women and girls.
“So grave is the scale, nature, systematic character, and transnational reach of these atrocities against women and girls, that a number of them may reasonably meet the legal threshold of crimes against humanity,” they said in a statement.
The experts said the allegations contained in the files require an independent, thorough and impartial investigation, and said inquiries should also be launched into how it was possible …

Una Voce Blames FSSPX of "Throwing a Hand Grenade" in Roman Rite Negotiations

"We’ve waited patiently for Pope Leo XIV to consider relaxing Latin Mass restrictions — the FSSPX has now thrown a hand grenade into this," said Joseph Shaw, President of Una Voce International at a symposium in London on February 12.
He fears that the Priestly Fraternity of St Pius X (FSSPX) and diocesan Catholics of the Roman rite are being “lumped together”.
Talking to OsvNews.com on February 16, Shaw dreamed of “quiet and subtle, but rapid” concession on the Roman rite by Pope Leo XIV.
He blamed the FSSPX’s move to harden attitudes among some bishops and cardinals, who could now view all Catholics of the Roman rite as “tainted with disapproval.”
“We’re not looking for any kind of victory, just to be allowed to remain a tiny part of the Church, contributing in our own way”, he said.
But: “From my weekly dealings with our bishops, however, I haven’t sadly detected any softening in official positions.
Since May, there was no indication that Leo XIV would loosen restriction on …More
