Two women will jointly lead the Catholic Deanery of Bremen-Nord, Hildesheim Diocese, for the first time, marking a historic shift in church leadership. The decision was announced on July 21. A new study of Catholic contemplative monasteries has found that 91 monasteries have closed in France over the past two decades, representing nearly one-third of the country's contemplative houses.
