Litany of the B.V.M. for the Persecuted Church.
www.orderofmercy.org - Our Lord has said, “If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you...”. We are all aware of the severe persecution of Christians in Syria, Iraq, Nigeria, and other parts of the world. This is a grave injustice.
We are called to come together to pray, fast, and stand in solidarity with those members of the Body of Christ who are suffering.
Let us pray the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the Persecuted Church

Visitation Spirit website —The new video, “All Heart — Burning Love of the Sacred Heart” in nine minutes shows many of the spectacular vestments, silks and other artifacts of the special exhibit, “A tout coeur” being displayed at the Visitation Museum in Moulins, France from now until Dec. 24, 2013.
Here is the script of the video, produced by the Second Federation of the Visitation in the U.S. and released June 7, on the Feast of the Sacred Heart:
"Behold this Heart that has so greatly loved people."
These words of Jesus Christ to the humble Sr. Margaret Mary Alacoque centuries ago are echoed in the beautiful vestments, liturgical objects, and other artifacts at a special exhibit now displayed at The Musée de la Visitation in Moulins, France.
The museum hosts “A tout coeur,” All Heart, an exhibition of works of art and love centered around the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Channels of Divine Love: Visitandine Mystics of the Sacred Heart.
visitationspirit.org/…/channels-of-div… — Click to read the entire video script.
Portrayed here are six mystics of the Visitation Order, beginning with St. Margaret Mary Alocoque, to whom Our Lord appeared to promote the devotion to his Sacred Heart.
Each succeeding Visitation Sister’s mission of the Sacred Heart seems to build upon and develop that which was first revealed to St. Margaret Mary.
The video shows the role each Sister played in promoting this devotion. Many of these saints, and the stories surrounding them, are little known. For example, Ven. Anne Madeleine’s prayers and sacrifices during the bubonic plague, which erupted in Marseilles in 1720, went far to bring an end to the disease in the city. That year, Marseille was the first city in France to be consecrated to the Sacred Heart.
Another mystic, Ven. Mary Martha Chambon, received from Our Lord the Chaplet of the Holy Wounds, a prayer that can be said on …More

Pope followed the Holy Spirit many times, even when he felt otherwise.
greatcatholichomilies.com/…/guided-by-the-h… (Click here and read entire homily while watching this meditational video.)
As Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, Benedict XVI asked several times to resign from his post in the Vatican. And yet, when Pope John Paul II asked him to stay on, he did so.
So, Pope Benedict XVI was following the promptings of the Holy Spirit then, and he does so today in his decision to retire after years of faithful service as the Pope.
Let us pray that the College of Cardinals will also follow the lead of the Holy Spirit in choosing a successor.

Poverty, chastity, obedience — you will be signs of contradiction.
sistersop.com - Pope Benedict: "By embracing the Lord’s call to follow Him in chastity, poverty and obedience, you have begun a journey of radical discipleship which will make you 'signs of contradiction' (cf. Luke 2:34) to many of your contemporaries. Model your lives daily on the Lord’s own loving self-oblation in obedience to the will of the Father. You will then discover the freedom and joy which can draw others to the Love which lies beyond all other loves as their source and their ultimate fulfillment.
"Never forget that celibacy for the sake of the Kingdom means embracing a life completely devoted to love, a love that enables you to commit yourselves fully to God’s service and to be totally present to your brothers and sisters, especially those in need."

Toledo, OH Visitation Sisters’ 400th Anniversary Pilgrimage.
www.toledovisitation.org - Nestled in the breathtaking foothills of the Alpine mountains in eastern France lies the birthplace of the great bishop and doctor of the Church, St. Francis de Sales. This influential bishop, along with St. Jane Frances de Chantal, founded the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary.
On June 6, 2010, Visitandine sisters from around the world gathered in Annecy, France, the cradle of the Order. We gathered there to mark the fourth centenary of the founding of the Order, and participated in a Salesian symposium, special Masses and prayer vigils, and took walking tours in the footsteps of our two founders. Pilgrimages were also made to the fortress of Des Allinges.
Join us as we journey the next 100 years as we walk in the footsteps of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane Frances de Chantal, as a Visitation Sister. Contact the Visitation Sisters of Toledo, Ohio, at www.ToledoVisitation.org.

Pope: What Legacy Will You Leave to Other Young People?
sistersop.com - Dear young people, let me now ask you a question. What will you leave to the next generation?
Are you building your lives on firm foundations, building something that will endure? Are you living your lives in a way that opens up space for the Spirit in the midst of a world that wants to forget God, or even rejects Him in the name of a falsely-conceived freedom?
How are you using the gifts you have been given, the “power” which the Holy Spirit is even now prepared to release within you? What legacy will you leave to young people yet to come? What difference will you make?
(Pope Benedict XVI’s closing Mass at World Youth Day, Sydney, Australia, July 19, 2008. Read full homily at Zenit.)

They Give Up All to Embrace Christ.
sistersop.com - (Three quotes from Pope Benedict XVI)
1) Dear young people, if the Lord calls you to live more intimately at His service, respond generously. You may be certain: life dedicated to God is never spent in vain.
(To young people in Italy, Sept. 8, 2007. Read entire address at Catholic Culture.)
2) Today, as in all ages, there is no lack of generous souls ready to give up everyone and everything to embrace Christ and His Gospel, consecrating their existence to His service within communities characterized by enthusiasm, generosity and joy. (Reflection on Consecrated Life, Feb. 17, 2008. Read entire address on Catholic Culture.)
3) When we give ourselves to Christ, we receive a hundredfold in return. Yes, open wide the doors to Christ and you will find true life. (Talk at World Youth Day, April 24, 2005. Read address on World Youth Day for Pilgrims.)

www.orderofmercy.org – In this interview, Fr. Joseph Eddy, O. de M., explains his family life in a small town in the 1980’s in northeastern New York. He served as an altar boy and then felt a call to the priesthood. The next step was to decide whether he should become a diocesan priest or a member of a religious order.
He wound up becoming a Mercedarian friar, or a member of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy. Fr. Joseph also explains the dramatic foundation of the Order of Mercy in the thirteenth century.

Take One Step at a Time and Become a Dominican Sister.
www.sistersop.com – What are the steps to becoming a sister? Aspirancy, Postulancy, Profession.
Do you wonder, “To what kind of life is God calling me?” or “How can I know God’s will?” or “Am I being called to religious life?”
These are questions that many single persons ask themselves, and struggle with. Jesus Christ desires that all of His followers live life to the full. He said, “I have come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). To hear God’s voice, we first must listen. To listen, we must be silent, and to practice the art of prayer.
Take our “7 Quick Questions” questionnaire and see whether you might have a religious vocation, at sistersop.com/…/7-quick-questio…

The New Mass and the Wedding Feast of the Lamb - Video homily.
orderofmercy.orgGod has “married” His divinity with humanity in the incarnation. This union of the human and divine reveal to us the plan that God had from the beginning of time to allow us to share in his own divine life.
Ultimately, we await the fulfillment of this union in heaven. The book of revelation refers to this as the “wedding feast of the Lamb.” The book of Revelation recounts the visions of the apostle John. In these visions he sees that “the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.” The Lamb is Christ, who has sacrificed himself as the unblemished lamb was offered on the night of Passover. Jesus’ offering on the cross is the fulfillment of the Passover. He frees us from our sins. Jesus offers his life up for his bride, the Church. This is a true love story!
Understanding “the wedding feast of the Lamb” gives the true meaning to the parable in the Gospel. The King has invited us to the …More

Guard our thoughts and follow Christ to holiness - Video homily.
orderofmercy.org Homily summary: Our morality and the state of our soul is determined by the choices that we make. What we take in with our senses (touch, sight, and hearing) will go a long ways to determining the choices that we make.
If we listen to, look at, and experience virtuous behavior, we will be more likely to become virtuous. But, if what we listen to, look at, and experience each day is sinful it will wear away at our resolve and eventually turn us into a person in bondage to sin.
A prudent discernment of the culture can preserve our purity of thoughts and prevent sin from enslaving us.

Let God's Call for Your Life Flower as a Dominican Sister.
sistersop.com - In God’s eyes, your life stretches between a promise and its fulfillment, a promise from before you were born and the fulfillment that is still in your hands. The Scripture clearly shows that both correspond perfectly.
Following the footsteps of Abraham of years ago, and his faith journey, you need to explore how God speaks to your heart and what is, in fact, the “promised land” for your life’s journey.
The promise of your life’s vocation already buds in your heart. Will you let it blossom to completion? Time and again God reassured Abraham to trust unfailingly and to proceed confidently until the goal was achieved.
