Sarah: Vatican Still in Charge Of Translations
Despite Magnum Principium the Vatican still has the last word on liturgical translations.
Cardinal Robert Sarah, the prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, wrote on October 1 in L’Homme Nouveau that all changes and translations of liturgical texts need a Vatican approval.
Sarah is however effectively sacked as a prefect and his congregation may not be taken seriously any more by the bishops' conferences.
