Topsy-Turvy Church: Bishop Standing Out By Wearing Cassock

"Are you sending a message, Tom" - an unnamed U.S. bishop asked Springfield Bishop Thomas Paprocki.

The reason: Paprocki was wearing his cassock at the ongoing meeting of the U.S. bishops’ in Baltimore.

The incident was reported by Ed Condon (Twitter, June 12).

Being a bishop, Paprocki wore what he was supposed to wear, but in the present Church, normality has become abnormal.

In Isaac Jogues' narrative of a captivity among the Mohawks, the conclusion from certain incidents its that the cassock is a symbol of chastity, especially celibacy.

"Are you sending a message, Tom?" Ya think? I don't know who made that remark and, since there's already a Captain Obvious, I guess we now have a Bishop Obvious.
