Is the Latin Mass on the way out or the way back?

When Pope Francis first appeared to the crowd in St. Peter’s Square without the short red cape known as a mozzetta, some Roman Catholics cried foul, worried the pope’s decision to forgo the more formal wear signaled a threat to traditional worship. Specifically, they fretted over the fate of the old Latin Mass, now in the hands of a papacy that seemed to shrug off pomp and circumstance. But more than a year into Francis’ reign, the Tridentine Mass, as it is sometimes called, appears to be alive and well. Decades after the Catholic Church moved away from celebrating Mass in Latin, a throwback movement is growing, in many cases with young people leading the charge.

Whoop-dee-doo-liturgies are obviously not "pomp and circumstances", they are only sentimental "pomp and circumstances"...
Dr Bobus
I don't know about pomp and circumstance, but liberals habitually like whoop-dee-doo liturgy.
Abramo
I guess most liberals would associate any liturgy that is not casual with "pomp and circumstances".

Latin liturgy and pomp and circumstance are not necessarily connected.
Fontgombault and Clear Creek have only Latin liturgy, but there is very little if any pomp and circumstance.More

@tbswv: Many (bishops, priests and lay people) want the TLM to disappear because it contradicts their heretical believes.

I bet all my Latin mass brothers can attest that they are well attended and in some cases flourishing. "now in the hands of a papacy that seemed to shrug off pomp and circumstance": I agree that the Pope still receives far too much "pomp and circumstance" which should only be dedicated to Christ who, alas, remains unnoticed in the corner (sic!) of your modern churches.

On the use of Latin, St. Augustine says, “ If there are some present who do not understand what is being said or sung, they know at least that all is said and sung to the glory of God, and that it is sufficient for them to join in it devoutly.” Besides, the Holy sacrifice of the Mass is not an instruction for the people; a mystery is being enacted and the use of Latin conveys that something is …More

Let us pray for the Holy Catholic Church and for the Holy Father, Pope Francis. May the Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth, and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies (Ps 40:3).
