New Attack During a Mass in France

A 28-year-old man has appeared on October 5 during the 11.15 Mass in the historic church Sainte-Croix in Nantes, France. He went up to the altar pointing a gun at the priest, Father Bernard Charrier, who escaped into the sacristy. The weapon was probably a replica gun. According to the diocese the perpetrator was in his thirties and gave the impression of being mentally deranged. Some of the 40 to 60 faithful present at the Mass where deeply shocked by the incident. The man was arrested by the police without opposing resistance.
