A Divided Church - Also in Politics
U.S. Catholics and their pastors are nearly evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans according to a study published by Yale assistant professor Eitan D. Hersh.
Reform Judaism Rabbis are the most Democratic group of pastors in the U.S., followed by Unitarian, African Methodist Episcopal, and Conservative Jewish pastors. Orthodox Jews are also mainly Democratic. Several Evangelical and Baptist churches are overwhelmingly Republican.
