On Pentecost Sunday, Pope Francis issued his “Message for World Mission Sunday”. In this message Francis writes that “the Church’s mission is not to spread a religious ideology, much less to propose a lofty ethical teaching.” It is unclear against whom Francis wants to polemicize with his abstract words.
