Springsteen: Not sure whether faith or nostalgia draws him

Catholic Herald

American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen is frequenting the parish of his youth, where he served as an altar boy.

He says he continues to "feel the Catholic Church's imprint" on him "rather strongly". Approaching 70, he remarks, "you get more spiritual as you grow older."

Many firmly insist Springsteen's song lyrics have often been influenced by his Catholic faith.

Springsteen isn't sure if he is drawn by the parish of his childhood by faith or nostalgia. He hasn't been to confession in some time, openly supports abortion and so-called "gay marriage" and says that dogma isn't for him.
