IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL GLORIA.TV MEMBERS
Addressed to the members of gloria.tv,
The administration and the news contributors of gloria.tv work with little and oftentimes no material gain to show for their efforts. Some would call this a labor of love and it is. It is a love for our Savior from whom and for whom all of our actions flow.
Our hope is that gloria.tv will continue to grow in both membership and in contributors. To accomplish this goal, we must continue to strive for excellence in the presentation of news items, in the type and variety of videos that are featured and, perhaps most importantly, in the quality of comments that appear at this site.
It is the hope of the administration that members would monitor their own comments and avoid personal attacks that have nothing at all to do with the subject being discussed. Unfortunately, especially of late, this has not happened. What can be seen occurring by a small group of repeat offenders is a daily litany of personal demeaning attacks followed by inappropriate responses, followed by more demeaning attacks and more inappropriate responses.
Leaving aside the question of whether this is proper behavior for Catholics (clearly, it is not), these kinds of hostile juvenile interactions are not the type of comments that we had in mind when permitting members to comment on uploaded videos.
Observers could easily call my reputation into question along with everyone else who is a contributor to the behind the scenes workings of gloria.tv. The question could easily be asked by outside observers, “What kind of mud slinging site are you running over there at gloria.tv”?
I will not permit this site nor will I allow the reputation of those who work so hard to make gloria.tv a success to be dragged into the mud by a few headstrong individuals who think only of themselves.
Upload videos. Make comments. Enjoy your time at this website. Disagree when there is a cause for disagreement. However, exercise restraint, common sense and decency when you disagree. Manifest the kind of behavior that would clearly identify you (and this site) as being Catholic, a follower of Jesus Christ.
I hope I've made myself clear. As an incentive, if this directive is not followed, the offender will be prohibited from posting at gloria.tv. Play nice!
Yours in Christ,
Doina
