Archbishop Charles Scicluna undergoes gallbladder surgery in Chile

(Matthew Vella) Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna has been hospitalised in San Carlos de Apoquindo Hospital, in Santiago, Chile, and is undergoing surgery on the gallbladder.
The Maltese archbishop this week met the victims of Chilean priest Fr Fernando Karadima, who was convicted in 2011 the homosexual abuse teenager men.

Doctors have informed Archbishop Scicluna that an intercontinental flight in the coming days is not advisable. It's almost certain that he will not re-enter Italy on Saturday to present findings to Pope Francis as originally planned.
