Leading Cardinal: Amoris Laetitia Is "Masterpiece", "on the Same Level" As Vatican II"

During his first press conference in Rome, the new president of the Italian Bishops' Conference, Perugia Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti, called the controversial document Amoris Laetitia a "masterpiece that belongs to the magisterium of the Church" putting it on the same level as the documents of Vatican II although Amoris Laetitia contradicts it. He further claimed that not every "irregular [marriage] situation" is a mortal sin.

About himself Bassetti said that he "acts out of the instinct of the heart more than out of the reasons of the intellect." According to common sense the instinct is not an adequate instrument to resolve problems belonging to the realm of the intellect.

It is a deliberate double speak, George Orwell wrote about that kind of devious stuff years ago. Our Lord, is very, "say yes when you mean yes and no when you mean no".
Ignore this diabolical doublespeak from the Vatican and silly wee pompous fools with red ( and pink) skull caps.

It is indeed a masterpiece . A masterpiece of confusion intended for division among the faithful by a mind steeped in the satanic!

About himself Bassetti said that he "acts out of the instinct of the heart more than out of the reasons of the intellect."

Aquinas provides the most comprehensive treatment of this subject in the second part of the Summa theologiae. There, he explains that reason is comprised of two powers: one cognitive, the other appetitive. The cognitive power is the intellect, which enables us to know and understand. The intellect also enables us to apprehend the goodness a thing has. The appetitive power of reason is called the will. Aquinas describes the will as a native desire for the understood good.

To summarize, as understood in Catholic philosophical literature, the intellect signifies the higher, spiritual, cognitive power of the soul and not about “the instinct of the heart.” (Read: Feelings )

Although Cardinal Bassetti “acts out of the instinct of the heart” his acts are, by definition, functioning at a lower/inferior power of the human soul. This is scandalous to announce publicly especially when, after making such a foolish announcement, you then attempt to redefine Catholic doctrine by using the same “instinct of the heart.”
