The Ghana Episcopal Conference has renewed its effort to minimising the high level of migration of young people during their Annual Plenary Assembly.
The bishops instructed Caritas Ghana to prioritize activities to address “this threat” and took time to hear the “lamentations” of the traditional and political authorities regarding this subject.
They declared themselves “saddened by the unfortunate loss of lives in the desert and the Mediterranean Sea of young men and women embarking on these perilous journeys.” They are praying for their “safe return”.
In 2017 over 4000 Ghanaians were repatriated from Libya.
