Cathedral Finally Retaken

St Mary’s Cathedral in Marawi, Philippines, which was taken by an armed Islamic group on May 23, has been liberated on August 25 by the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The army cleared the building of explosive devices.

According to local media the altar was demolished. All statues were destroyed.
