VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- During World Youth Day celebrations in Rio de Janeiro, July 23-28, many worshippers in the crowds could be seen swaying from side to side, arms raised in the air, wearing rapt or joyous expressions on their faces.
Such scenes, along with on-stage appearances by celebrities such as Father Marcelo Rossi, a mega-church pastor whose records and movies regularly top the charts in his native Brazil, testified to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal's strong influence on the church in Latin America today.
As the church continues to lose members in the region with the world's largest Catholic population, the charismatic movement stands out as a source of hope, not only for fending off the formidable competition of Pentecostal Protestantism but for raising morale among the faithful as a whole.

If he is going to say something like that, then he should also say that the SSPX is gift of holy spirit to the Church as well when the Church was in a great state of upheavel from being God centered to man centered.
I just don't understand why the liberal idea of inclusiveness cannot be applied universally.
If we cannot include all "radicals" then why should we include any?

I just don't understand why the liberal idea of inclusiveness cannot be applied universally.
If we cannot include all "radicals" then why should we include any?
If they can go and should Hallujah and start foaming and flailing and hitting their heads on the pews and foor, and be acceptable and appreciated, Can't we just get a Mass that has Traditional Continunity to it?

the 'charismatic' movement is not catholic, but is from the pentecostal heretical sect. It is not a 'gift' but is a curse upon faithless 'catholics'
I am unsure of the Holy Fathers experience of the "charismatic" renewal movement, however my own in Scotland was one of meeting with rather large egos who did not share my catholic faith, but claimed to be the new church in Scotland, that was 20 or so years ago, where are they now???

It is an emotional lot of non-sense with a sense of secrecy about it, the nearest I can think of would be free masons, dubious little people, with an agenda, with wholes in their lives to fill. Surrounding individual members of the clergy ( in a sycophantic way) and no doubt giving them an ego massage, but again.....where are they now?
What the Church needs are priests who are men steeped in prayer and who are men of deep faith and adhere to and preach on all the teachings of the church - in and out of season, not, sadly, what we have- in the main- at present.
