MOSCOW, May 23 (Reuters) – Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that Moscow will retaliate with strikes on British targets if British weapons are used by Ukraine to strike Russian territory.
Zakharova told reporters that British targets “on Ukraine’s territory and beyond its borders” could be hit in such a scenario.
She was repeating a warning that Moscow first issued earlier this month after British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Ukraine had a right to use weapons provided by London to hit targets inside Russia.
Russia reacted with outrage to that remark and cited it as one of the reasons why it has opted to hold exercises this month to simulate the launch of tactical nuclear missiles.

RADDATZ: Thanks to James. I’m joined by Victoria Nuland, former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs in the Biden Administration. Good morning to you. These are the largest gains we have seen in Russia, as James just explained. President Zelenskyy directly blaming the delay of foreign aid. Can they turn this around?
VICTORIA NULAND, FORMER UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR POLITICAL AFFAIRS OF THE UNITED STATES: I think they can certainly turn this around, Martha. But the six-month delay certainly made a difference. The frontline for Ukraine needs the artillery that we are sending. They need more air defenses. They need to be able to stop these Russian attacks that are coming from bases inside Russia. So, I think there’s also a question of whether we, the United States and our allies, ought to give them more help in hitting Russian bases, which heretofore we have not been willing to do.
RADDATZ: And do you think they should?
NULAND: I think if the attacks are coming directly from over the line in Russia, that those bases ought to be fair game, whether they are where missiles are being launched from or where they are where troops are being supplied from.
I think it’s time for that because Russia has obviously escalated this war, including, as you said, at the beginning, attacking Russia’s second city, Kharkiv, which is not on the front lines, and trying to decimate it without ever having to put a boot on the ground. So I think it is time to give the Ukrainians more help hitting these bases inside Russia.
RADDATZ: One of the reasons that the administration has hesitated is because they believe it will escalate things even further with Russia, pull the U.S. further in. Why not – why – so why do you think that’s a good idea?
NULAND: Because it’s Russia that has escalated this war. Russia has learned how to pull its forces back out of the range where we have allowed Ukraine to use our weapons and get our support. So, they are getting a direct advantage in this war from our hesitation, and they have escalated massively. As you know, they have flattened a third of Kharkiv without ever having to get on the ground there. So, it is time to stop that and help Ukraine push them back…

God wants us to pray for our needs. He wants us to be joyful in His strength. He wants to grant the effect of the prayers of the devoutly faithful, whose faith has been granted by Him through grace. He wants to thunder from heaven to our aid.
But to aid us in what way? To defend us from the fury of our worldly enemies, to be sure. But far greater than this, to aid us in attaining our heavenly reward, by SEEKING TRUTH. That’s the “whatever I have said to you” in the Communion verse. This truth is the One True Faith as laid down by Jesus Christ and disseminated by His apostles. The truth never changes because God never changes. For change to occur, the nature of thing must be different at one time than it is at another time. Since time is a construct created by God, and He exists outside of it, change for Him is impossible. That’s right, the omnipotent God was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be PERFECT.
So if you ever hear anyone, no matter their title, trying to tell you that you need to listen to the “spirit”, to be open to new ideas, to embrace the “surprises”, and to do so ESPECIALLY when they represent a clear break with how things were laid down and passed on for 2000 years, well, that person is in fact the enemy, attempting to inflict his fury upon you. And he is far worse than our worldy foes, because his fury is directed not at your mortal body, but at your eternal soul. Always it will be an appeal to the false doctrines of Times They Are A Changin’ and Things Are Different Nowadays, because today we have people in concrete situations to which it can no longer be said that God’s laws are anything more than lofty ideals.
For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables. 2 Tim 4:3-4

Listed among the “Top Sellers” on the official website, Butker’s No. 7 jersey has gotten quite a bump after the kicker’s polarizing remarks. CBS Sports has reached out to the NFL about the specific sales numbers.
