Blessed Silvestre Arnau y Pascuet
Profile
The son of Lorenzo Arnau and Maria Pasquet, Silvestre entered the minor seminary at age 12, studied in Urgel, Spain and at the Gregorian University of Rome, Italy where he earned a degree in theology. Ordained a priest in the diocese of Urgel on 21 November 1935. He served as co-adjutor priest at Pobla di Segur, Spain for a few months before being imprisoned and then executed in the persecutions of the Spanish Civil War. Martyr.
