When we zoom into this photo we see what looks like a pope ascending the mountain, carrying the cross with Jesus between the second and third station. The significance is that the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul commemorates the first pope, Peter and the seat of Rome, established by the blood of Saints Peter and Paul, the two great apostles. We pray for the successors of Saint Peter and Paul, the popes, who today, more than ever, are called to carry the cross to calvary. May all the departed saintly popes intercede for us and guide our Holy Father in his painful journey to calvary. Who was this Pope in the photo? We do not know, but the symbolic meaning behind this amazing photo is very clear. God bless you and keep you.

Faithful at Our Lady of the Refuge parish, in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, Mexico said they witnessed the statue weeping at their pastor’s funeral. The church confirmed the priest’s death in a Facebook post. “The death of [Father] Heriberto López Barajas is communicated to the entire parish community of Our Lady of the Refuge. Let us pray for him and his family. His farewell will be tomorrow, Saturday, at Mass, at 4:30 pm, presided over by Bishop Oscar Armando Campos Contreras,” the Facebook post says. However, the parishioners said on Cuatrozapotlán Televisión that the image of Christ wept during Father Heriberto’s burial.
