Profile

Sergio felt a call to religious life as a child, and joined the Salesians, making his profession in 1905. He studied at the Sarria seminary near Barcelona, Spain, and was ordained a priest. Stopped on the street by milita forces in the Spanish Civil War, he was accused of the crime of being a priest. “Yes, I am a Salesian priest,” he replied, and was immediately executed. Martyr.
