Blessed Gerardo Mecatti

A member of the Knights of Malta, Gerardo was inspired by the example of Saint Francis of Assisi, gave all his wealth to the poor, became a Franciscan tertiary and withdrew to live as a prayerful hermit. He came into the city for Mass, to pray in churches for the souls in Purgatory and the conversion of non-Christians, to care for the sick, and to offer any help he could give to pilgrims. Miracle worker.
