Blessed Valentín Gil Arribas
Profile
Baptized at the age of four days, Valentín was a religious boy, and when he old enough, joined the Salesians of Don Bosco, entering the novitiate at Carabanchel Alto, Madrid, Spain, and making his solemn profession on 26 July 1916 as a coadjutor brother. He worked in and supervised the kitchen of his house, and was known as a hard working, giving and generous man. He was imprisoned several times in the early days of the Spanish Civil War, and when the militia decided that he was and would remain in religious life, Valentín was executed. Martyr.
