Odette qualified as a school teacher in 1950, and worked as a teacher from then till 1953 when she joined the Little Sisters of the Sacred Heart; she made her final vows in 1959. She worked as a teacher at the Kbab mission in Morocco, and later in Argenteuil, France. Assigned to Algiers in 1968, she worked to understand the people and the culture of the area to better teach her poor students, and encourage dialogue between Christians and Muslims. Murdered while on her way to Mass. Martyr.
