The son of Severino, Antonio became a lifelong layman in the diocese of Oviedo, Spain. At one point he tried to joined the Dominicans, like his brother, but contracted tuberculosis and was forced to return home. There he became involved in Eucharistic adoration, and began studying to become a teacher. Because of his active involvement with the faith, Antonio, along with his father and a brother, was imprisoned at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. At one point he was offered his freedom if he would destroy the altar in his old parish church; he declined. Martyr.
