about us
Our Spirituality
The Family of Mary Immaculate and St Francis, or Marian Franciscans as we are commonly known, takes its inspiration from the Franciscan-Marian Charism of St Maximilian Mary Kolbe according to his life and teachings.
Our Friaries
With two Friaries in the United Kingdom, the Marian Franciscans wish to promote the importance of consecrating ourselves to the Blessed Virgin Mary for the benefit of our own souls and for those of the whole world .
Our Patron Saints
Inspired by the life and example of our patron saints: St Francis of Assisi, St Clare of Assisi, St Maximilian Mary Kolbe and St Pio of Pietrelcina, the Marian Franciscans live the Franciscan way of life under the patronage of the Mary Immaculate
Vocations
A vocation to the religious life is the most beautiful gift which God can bestow upon a soul. It is our duty therefore to carefully discern whether or not we are called, for it would be an injustice to ignore our Lord’s guiding hand. Moreover, unless we live in the state of life which God desires for us, we will never be truly fulfilled or satisfied in our days in this world. For these reasons, spending time in prayer and discernment to better understand God’s will for us is of great importance.
Apostolate
Marian Outreach
As Franciscans, we are inspired by this beautiful devotion of our Seraphic Father, and we seek to imitate this great Saint in consecrating ourselves entirely to Mary in order to give ourselves entirely to Christ. This is the foundation of our way of life, which is characterised by our vow of unlimited consecration to our Lady.
Media
Being missionaries, and inspired by the example of the great Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe who was devoted to spreading the message of Christ through Mary by any means possible, the Marian Franciscans run an online apostolate with talks, conferences and a weekly live show called Tea With Mary.
Publications
After the example of St Maximilian Mary Kolbe, who wished to use every means to spread devotion to Mary, the Marian Franciscans publish various newsletters and magazines which seek deepen the knowledge of the Catholic Faith and propagate a Marian culture
