First bishop of Piacenza, Italy, beginning in 322; he served his flock for over 50 years. Staunch opponent of Arianism. Attended the Synod of Rome in 324, the Council of Nicaea in 325, the Council of Sardica, the Council of Milan in 355, and the Council of Rome in 372. Attended the episcopal consecration of Saint Ambose of Milan in 374. Supported vocations to religious life in his diocese.
