A Satanist statue cast in bronze is just months away from completion, and activists hope that it will find a home on the lawn of the Oklahoma State Capitol. Ultimately, the statue — which features the seven-foot tall, horned figure of Baphomet fawned upon by two exultant children — is intended to stand directly next to a highly controversial monument of the ten commandments that was donated by a state legislator in 2012 and subsequently placed on the grounds of the Capitol.

Satan did quote scripture. The problem was in his application of what the scripture he was quoting. He conveniently left out some important context. But unlike Satan, Jesus correctly applies it. It's interesting to note, just because someone quotes scripture doesn't mean they're imparting truth correctly. Like the devil they misapply it. But most fraudulent uses of scripture can be exposed by simply reading the context of the passage instead of small bits. It's the number one reason for countless misinterpretations.
