Illustration AI generator Afghan and Syrian nationals are significantly overrepresented among suspects of violent crimes in Germany, according to official statistics. This week, the Bild newspaper revealed some of the data from Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) report “Crime in the Context of Immigration” demonstrating that some foreign groups were much more likely to be suspected of serious crimes than German nationals. When looking at violent crimes, there was a rate of 163 suspects per 100,000 Germans in 2024. In contrast, the rate for Afghan nationals stood at 1,722 suspects per 100,000 inhabitants. Meanwhile, the rate for Syrian nationals was 1,740 suspects per 100,000 inhabitants, or more than ten times the rate of German citizens. According to the paper, a similar trend was born out in other categories of crime, including sexual offences or drug crimes, both of which are also led by Syrians and Afghans. Separate figures revealed last month that foreigners now …
Pfizer is facing scrutiny after the drugmaker last week published Phase 3 clinical trial results for its mRNA flu vaccine in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) — but excluded the trial’s data for adults 65 and older. The data, published only on ClinicalTrials.gov, showed that elderly participants who received the mRNA flu shot faced a greater risk of serious adverse events, including kidney failure and acute respiratory failure. The trial results published in the NEJM last week focused exclusively on adults 18 to 64. The only reference to results for participants 65 and older appeared as a brief mention in an accompanying editorial. Daniel O’Connor, founder of TrialSite News, said the NEJM’s exclusion of “a full high-risk cohort is extremely unusual and suggests a strategic de-emphasis of negative findings.” “When a top-tier journal quietly omits an entire high-risk population — and that population shows no benefit and higher harm — you’re not looking at science. You’re …
Is there a definitive cause for the collapse in religious vocations? In this Pints With Aquinas episode, host Matt Fradd asks Sister Miriam Heidland, SOLT, a pressing question: Why are there so few religious sisters today? “I think part of it is the attack on spiritual motherhood and spiritual fatherhood…really, it’s the attack on man and woman, and like, who are we?” she begins. Sister Miriam then shares a personal story and offers her opinion on why there are fewer vocations to the religious life today. “I was talking with the bishop many months ago, and he was saying that in the 1960s…there was a religious community in Wisconsin that was receiving a hundred women a year. 100 women! And they built a brand new novitiate, and then by 1972, they were receiving just four,” she says. At this point in her conversation with the bishop, Sister Miriam says, he posed the question: “Women still have the capacity to say ‘yes’ to this divine invitation. What is preventing them?” Sister Miriam …
The number cause is FEMINISM, in my opinion. Young women have been brainwashed to want to "have it all" = career & 'family" although the latter needs to not be an 'oppressive patriarchal structure' but some self affirming set-up or divorce. Religious life is not even on the radar.
Why Shoppers are Getting Surprise Tariff Bills nytimes.com/…2/01/business/tariffs-customs- … Any imported products valued at $800 or less were able to enter the United States duty-free. But this summer, that exemption ended. Now, some consumers are getting hit with steep tariff bills before they can receive their packages — sometimes for hundreds of dollars. NBC’s Vicky Nguyen reports for TODAY on what to know before you order.
The end of a tariff exemption on goods worth $800 or less has left some U.S. shoppers with an extra shipping bill that must be paid before delivery. nytimes.com/…2/01/business/tariffs-customs- … Kim Batten, a physical therapist from Oakland, Calif., bought a trench coat earlier this year from a Dutch retailer for $456, a price that was a little above her budget. But after the coat was shipped, UPS told Ms. Batten in an email that she would have to pay over $250 in customs duties to receive it. With shipping, the whole transaction came to well over $700. “It ended up being the second most expensive article of clothing I’ve ever bought, other than my wedding gown,” she said. For decades, no customs duties were imposed on items like Ms. Batten’s coat. But this year, President Trump closed a loophole that had allowed goods worth $800 or less to enter the United States tariff free. The loophole, known as the de minimis exemption, ended for items from China in May and for the rest of the …More

President Donald Trump became the first U.S. President to issue a statement to Catholics on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception: Today, I recognize every American celebrating December 8 as a Holy Day honoring the faith, humility, and love of Mary, mother of Jesus and one of the greatest figures in the Bible. On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Catholics celebrate what they believe to be Mary’s freedom from original sin as the mother of God. She first entered recorded history as a young woman when, according to Holy Scripture, the Angel Gabriel greeted her in the village of Nazareth with news of a miracle: “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you,” announcing that “you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.” In one of the most profound and consequential acts of history, Mary heroically accepted God’s will with trust and humility: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Mary’s decision forever …
A 15-year-old schoolgirl begged a female passerby to intervene as she was dragged away to be raped by two Afghan asylum seekers, but 'no one came to her aid'. Horrific details of the victim's ordeal were revealed in court as Jan Jahanzeb and Israr Niazal, both 17, were jailed for the attack in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. The two defendants had arrived in Britain in small boats just months before targeting the child in a park on May 10 this year. Phone footage captured by the victim was so appalling that one of the boy's own barristers warned it would lead to 'disorder' if 'the general public were exposed' to it. In the distressing three-minute clip, the girl could be heard crying, 'you're going to rape me', as she was led away from where she had been drinking with friends and taken to a secluded 'den-type' area in nearby parkland. The footage, played at Warwick Crown Court yesterday, also showed her weeping, screaming 'help me, someone help me' and begging not to be taken by the pair. …

Robert Prevost has "de facto" nullified the requirement for salvation that all human beings receive the sacrament of Baptism and believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This evening, Pope Leo XIV participated in a niche interreligious gathering organised by the Sant’Egido Community at the Colosseum. At the beginning, Andrea Riccardi emphasised that “the Spirit of Assisi still blows”. Representatives of various religions were present, including Christian sects, as well as representatives of Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and other faiths. Together, they lit small candles. Leo XIV held a speech praising the false religions and spiritualties. His key points were: - We have prayed for peace according to our diverse religious traditions. - This is our witness: offering the immense treasures of ancient spiritualities to contemporary humanity. - On 27 October 1986, Saint John Paul IIinvited religious leaders from around the world to Assisi to pray for peace. This historic event marked a turning point in interfaith relations. - We embrace the challenge of Assisi and the awareness of our shared task and responsibility for peace. - For the Catholic Church …More
This is pagan. If all religions are fine, why be a Catholic? Christ commanded His apostles to go preach, convert and baptize all nations. V2 has demanded that we stop.

"Time and again, I read that myself and other bishops in Germany are no longer Catholic," said Bishop Peter Kohlgraf of Mainz, Germany, in his sermon today on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in Mainz Cathedral. He insisted that this was nonsense. However, Bishop Kohlgraf admitted that he wants to reinterpret what it means to be Catholic today. He wants to adopt an open attitude and be ready for dialogue. Bishop Kohlgraf refuses to define Catholicism as "an unchanging truth that must be proclaimed at all times, regardless of current issues and developments". Furthermore, he rejected an understanding of Catholic identity that is defined by demarcation. For him, being Catholic is not about "slamming others with doctrines and moral teachings as if throwing a rag at them", but rather striving to understand others and their experiences. He believes in a proclamation that is dialogical and considers the "real-life situations" people face. "For me, being Catholic also means reckoning with …More
Mark 16:15-16 “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.’” Romans 8:9: “Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.”
Catholic NGOs accepted millions in federal tax dollars trafficking unaccompanied children. In the history of American governance, few chapters will stain the pages as darkly as the utter failure of the Biden-Harris administration to safeguard unaccompanied migrant children. I must ask this question: If their goal was to intentionally traffic children into sexual slavery and forced labor, how would their actions have been any different? For four catastrophic years, vulnerable minors poured across the Rio Grande and were funneled into a system riddled with incompetence, willful blindness, and flat-out negligence. A report from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General (DHS OIG) landed like a bomb and exposed the tragedy: the administration lost track of over 320,000 of these children, releasing them to unvetted sponsors without so much as a whisper of accountability. These were terrified kids, fleeing poverty or violence, only to vanish into the shadows of sex …
