In traditional Christian art for the Nativity, the Blessed Virgin Mary & St. Joseph are shown adoring the Christ child - not sleeping. In fact, one of the major themes of Advent (especially pertinent in these times) is to stay awake! The Lord has come in the Incarnation and is coming again. Another aspect, many saintly commentators have written on St. Joseph's reverence toward, not only the baby Jesus, but the most holy Mother of God. They speak of his awe-filled wonder at being the guardian of the Holy Family. Some years ago, when an image was making the rounds of Joseph embracing Mary and Jesus in a kinda "bear hug", pious Catholics and even Orthodox Christians winced at this depiction as overly sentimental and even sacrilegious.
Cor orans isn't the only Francis document that seems directed at disbanding small (usually traditional) religious communities which are particularly contemplative women. Last month a directive forbade bishops from establishing new foundations without explicit Vatican approval. Seems as if globalism even applies to the spiritual life!
Yeah, she began "dating" her brother-in-law... Former ages thought this as incestuous. Plus didn't Dr. Jill also "date" Joe while her 1st husband was alive? Yes, I know, Trump had 3 'wives'. But you see we are told by the media he's the "worst person to have ever lived - literally Hitler" so that's to be expected.
This is madness! Why not just wash your hands after the ceremony? You know like all those "health experts" have been telling us for the past 8+ months.
Perhaps this is the reason why Sweden didn't have to undergo the virus panic - they are already complying...
Earlier in his ‘reign’ Francis quipped that most marriages were probably invalid, seems he had some kind of inside knowledge. The problem is far more worse than one sacrament!
What a wonderful example of true Christian motherhood! Reminds me of some of the saints' mothers who admonished their children to avoid sin at all costs. The headline grabbed me, since it seems to imply some lack of faith on her part (like Bergoglio's mother who was against here son being ordained) but I'm glad I was surprised at the real meaning.
Don't be surprised, but some dioceses on the East coast of the U.S. are saying just that. Where I live (Midwest) the bishops of Iowa came out in unison saying no Church attendance until a vaccine for the virus in the spring. They reversed this later. I wonder why. Maybe push back from the faithful?
Yes but Vatican II billed itself as a "pastoral council" NOT called to address any heresies but to open up and dialogue with the modern world. Seems like things were not addressed, but co-opted!
Ugh! That music is something out of a horror movie - matches the architecture!
Notice the earthly remains of these supposed faithful departed appear not to be in dignified urns but packages like one receives in the mail. What a disgrace! Are there no consecrated cemetery plots in NY? The cardinal should have presided over a decent Christian burial. Church never should of allowed cremation.
Does this mean Rome might face imminent destruction?
"Until a vaccine and widespread testing & tracing is available." - that means it will be YEARS! Are the bishops of Iowa serious? No sacraments or public worship of God until Bill Gates & the NWO get their microchip surveillance state in place. Will people even be permitted to gather then?
Unfortunately, many in our crazy sinful world consider such common sense insights offensive and even 'hate' speech! The 2 sexes is a matter of biology, not dogma per se. That Christ had a human nature means He had to be incarnated as either male or female. No transsexuals!
