Scripture teaches that we can pray for men who sin against men, but no man can intercede for a man who sins against God (1 Samuel 2:25; Jeremiah 7:16-19; 1 John 5:16). Scripture says it is impossible for an apostate (one who rebels against God) to be restored, so it compares him to a dog that eats vomit or a pig that wallows in the mud. The same thing happened with the apostate angels.

Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori explains that when a priest falls into apostasy, he sins against God like the apostate angels.

Angels were not given second chance since they SAW and KNEW God. Humans are in different situation. About Alphonsus - would you have the quotation? And if it does say if this priest can be forgiven.

Amazing work. Thank you. I am still not sure if the priests that are committing grave sin are without hope of salvation (that is what you have suggested?). Let me present here a quote from 'The Dialogue' of Saint Catherine of Siena about similar problem - sinful priests (I have a friendly exchange with Mrs. Ann Barnhardt back in 2019 when I pointed the same thing - do not attack the priests but pray for them, because they can be forgiven):
