Pope makes traditional visit to the Statue of the Immaculate Conception
Pope Leo XIV visited Piazza di Spagna in Rome on Monday afternoon to mark the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. Following a tradition observed by the Bishop of Rome for the past 50 years, the Pope laid a bouquet of white roses at the base of the Column of the Immaculate Conception and led prayers for the feast day. Accompanied by Rome’s mayor, the Pope prayed with those gathered, then greeted attendees and blessed the sick and elderly.

Gender Ideology is "Absolutely Criminal" - Cardinal Müller

Cardinal Gerhard Müller, 77, told PelicanPlus.com on 8 December that the modern push for gender and homosexual ideology is "absolutely criminal".
PelicanPlus is a paywalled website that publishes media contributions from several traditional Catholic authors in the US. It uses the a blogging software Ghost.org (a competitor to WordPress) and technical maintenance provided by Treefort Systems.
Cardinal Müller believes naively that bishops are "naive" about homosexual ideology.
"God created human beings, male and female," he said, adding that it is also biologically and empirically "obvious" that we exist as men and women.
He linked this ideology to communist and gnostic ideologies and warns of an attack on the divine institution of marriage.
Cardinal Müller asked: "Which ideology was responsible for the deaths of more than 100 million people and the Gulags?" He replied: "This is not an accident in communism, but a logical consequence of atheism and a lack of respect for life."

The Virgin Mary Is the Universal Mediatrix

Forgotten Truths
Popes on Our Lady as Co-Redemptrix & Mediatrix – Part V

The Virgin Mary Is the Universal Mediatrix
From three Encyclicals by Pope Leo XIII we offer to our readers four excerpts, not quoted yet in this series, affirming that Our Lady is the Universal Mediatrix of all graces from Christ to us and all petitions from us to Christ.
These are pearls that should be added to the treasure chest of the Papal Magisterium already mentioned
here, here, here and here against the document by the present-day Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith advising Catholics not to use the titles of Mediatrix and Co-Redeemer for the Most Holy Mother of God.
Pope Leo XIII
"She [the great Mother of God, the Virgin Mary], in truth the Mediator before God of our peace and Dispenser of the celestial graces, is seated in Heaven on the highest throne of power and glory so that she may bestow her patronage on men, who, through so many labors and fights are striving to reach that celestial homeland …

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 18,12-14.
Jesus said to his disciples: “What is your opinion? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray?
And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray.
In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost.”

Leo XIV Grants Apostolic Blessing to FSSPX Chapel in Charlotte

Pope Leo XIV granted an Apostolic Blessing to Fr John Bourbeau FSSPX and the faithful of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) at Saint Anthony of Padua Chapel in Mount Holly, North Carolina.
The blessing commemorates the 25th anniversary of the chapel’s founding. The Vatican document is dated November 18 and signed by Cardinal Konrad Krajewski.
The chapel is in the Charlotte area. Many Catholics gather there for Mass because Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte curtailed most celebrations of the Mass in the Roman rite in diocesan parishes. He now permits the Roman rite only in a single diocesan chapel with capacity for approximately 350 people.
St. Anthony’s community was formed in the early 1980s and spent 19 years worshipping in various temporary locations, including a private residence, a rented floor of a bank building, and facilities of the Junior League of Charlotte.
In 2000, community members identified a church building for sale. The first Mass in the new chapel took …More

la verdad prevalece

First, an apostate like Prevost cannot give an apostolic blessing since he is not a successor of the apostles but a creation of the heresiarch Jorge Bergoglio. And observe his double standard in allowing traditional Catholics to be persecuted in the Diocese of Charlotte by the "executioner" Michael Martin.

In the name of the devil! Prevost, who denies the faith on matters of faith and morals, and who apostatizes by allowing himself to be bewitched by a shaman and who supports the false gods of false religions, cannot impart blessings in the name of Christ, this impostor who publicly denies the Holy Trinity.

Most long time readers of these pages might guess my favorite among the canonical Gospels. Back in 2019, I wrote a post entitled “
St. Luke the Evangelist, Dear and Glorious Physician.” In part, it profiled a 1959 book by Taylor Caldwell that I read at age 21 during my novitiate year as a Capuchin. Several years later, life took me in another direction to diocesan priesthood, and then down darker roads that seemed to have a will of their own. These were roads of betrayal and false witness that sent me ever further from the dream of my vocation to priesthood as I first envisioned how it would be.
That story is told in small snippets in multiple places. One day, I will compose the whole story. For this post, suffice it to say today that one book always stood out in the back of my mind as a story of Divine …

Faithful Worldwide Petition Pope Leo XIV to Re-examine “Mater Populi Fidelis”

Today, as Catholics around the world celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a global “filial appeal” initiative is being launched, respectfully urging Pope Leo XIV to re-examine Mater Populi Fidelis.
Titled, A Filial Appeal to Pope Leo XIV, the initiative comes amid persistent and intensifying concerns over last month’s doctrinal Note on the Marian titles “Co-redemptrix” and “Mediatrix of All Graces,” issued by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.
“With filial devotion we address this appeal to Your Holiness, giving humble voice to the dismay and consternation felt by a significant portion of the holy People of God after the publication, on 4 November 2025, of the mariological Note Mater Populi Fidelis by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith,” the letter begins.
The one-page appeal continues:
“As children of the Church, our consciences are profoundly troubled as we read the statements contained in this Note regarding certain Marian titles that refer …

Bishop Strickland denounces Prevost's heretical document on the Council of Nicaea

Bishop Strickland To The Faithful: Holding the Nicaean Line
Bishop Strickland denounces Prevost's heretic document on the Council of Nicaea, which rejects the deposit of Faith under the pretext of seeking unity without conversion and treats the Church as if it were an institution of human invention where Truth is subject to revision and willing to compromise on faith in order to coexist with the world.

In this sermon Father discusses the Immaculate Conception, explaining how Blessed Duns Scotus resolved theological difficulties by arguing that it was fitting for God to preserve His mother from original sin, a doctrine later defined as dogma by Pope Pius 9th. Mary is the “woman” of Genesis who crushes the serpent’s head, and as the “mold of God,” she serves as the perfect mediator to help the faithful be transformed into Christ. We need to practice total consecration to the Immaculate, imitating her virtues and relying on her intercession as it is the surest path to salvation and victory in spiritual warfare.
Key quotes from this sermon:
St. Augustine: “Mary was the only one who merited to be called the mother and spouse of God.”
St. Augustine: “For sin never had any entry into the soul of the Blessed Virgin.”
St. Bernard of Clairvaux: “Thou alone was found worthy to be chosen as the one in whose virginal womb …

Book of Isaiah 40,1-11.
Comfort, give comfort to my people, says your God.
Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her service is at an end, her guilt is expiated; Indeed, she has received from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins.
A voice cries out: In the desert prepare the way of the LORD! Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God!
Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill shall be made low; The rugged land shall be made a plain, the rough country, a broad valley.
Then the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all mankind shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
A voice says, "Cry out!" I answer, "What shall I cry out?" "All mankind is grass, and all their glory like the flower of the field.
The grass withers, the flower wilts, when the breath of the LORD blows upon it. (So then, the people is the grass.)
Though the grass withers and the flower wilts, the word of our God stands forever."
Go up onto a high mountain …
