Did not Archbishop Vigano, Bishop Schneider, and Cardinal Burke all issue severe criticisms of those very arguments propounded by de Mattei and which Seifert now has been persuaded to endorse and, worse, promote? It is disingenuous to state that only Christopher Ferrara (who has evidently not yet finished his 2-part excoriation of the vaccinations) held the sole contrary opinion. Diabolic disorientation dims another star in the firmament. Come Lord Jesus!

"Do not be surprised, beloved, that this fiery ordeal should have befallen you, to test your quality; there is nothing strange in what is happening to you. The government of Ireland enthusiastically accepted the role of designated Petri Dish in order to gauge the limits to which Covid-19 hysteria might be engineered to suppress both freedom of religion and freedom of assembly in a largely homogeneous population, both as to religion and ethnicity. The manifest lack of public push-back resultant from this Irish experiment will form the template for the world in future.

"There is nothing unlawful, then, in doing a work of mercy..."

The 'work of mercy' antecedent was, if you will, the pulling of a sheep out of a pit. Sheep do not belong in pits nor do dogs belong in Church; however as it was an act of mercy and no sin to extract the distressed sheep from a pit neither is it a sin but rather an act of mercy to calm a terrorized dying dog on the Sabbath. I agree that animals have no place in Church; however, on unexpected or extraordinary occasions it might be tolerable. Someone in the parish that the dog is familiar with might volunteer to mind Father's dog while he says Mass in future. There is nothing to indicate the dog was misbehaved or Mass was interrupted.

"God made every sort of wild beast, and all the different kinds of cattle and of creeping things; and God saw it, and found it good." Genesis 1:25 et. seq.

Although the following passage immediately concerns Our Lord's healing of the man with the withered hand, He does offer a vicarious comparison of sorts which may be appropos to priest and his suffering dog:

"...But he answered, Is there a man among you that has a sheep, who would not take hold of it and pull it out, if it should fall into a pit on the sabbath? And of what value is a sheep compared to a man? There is nothing unlawful, then, in doing a work of mercy on the sabbath day..." Matthew 12:11

I take it that alleviating the suffering of a sheep (animal) can be inferred as a work of mercy.
