FSSPX Priest Suggests that Transalpine Redemptorists Aligned with Archbishop Viganò
There is alignment, or at least tacit sympathy, between the Transalpine Redemptorists in Scotland and Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, an anonymous priest of the Priestly Fraternity of St Pius X (FSSPX) told TheCatholicHerald.com on 2 November.
The priest doubts that they will try to work with the FSSPX, saying: "I think they have gone full sedevacantist. They used to be prior to their reconciliation in 2007."
In a statement on 16 October, Monsignor Viganò praised the community for distancing themselves from the Church the previous day.
He added that he offered the community "full support", whatever that may mean.
On 24 October, the Bishop Hugh Gilbert of Aberdeen stated that the Redemptorists' declaration was "incompatible with the Catholic sense of the Church's unity". He added that the Holy See was examining the matter.

I'm all in with these true Catholics.
The Papacy cannot be eternal if there are now "occupiers"; it's a contradiction of terms. The Catholic faith teaches we must recognise St. Peter even when he is personally denying Christ; he's personal failings do not alter his God given authority. When His Grace Archbishop Lefebvre called us to seperate from the 'concilliar church' he meant for us to seperate ourselves from the error being taught, not from the establishment itself. He always advocated 'recognise and resist'. It's a question of making distinctions.
No where in their statement do the Redemptorists deny the papacy. It really is that simple. People love to throw the “you are a protestant” accusation around a lot these days.
As His Grace Archbishop Lefebvre said:
"From now on it is the conciliar church one must obey and be faithful to, and not to the Catholic Church. This is precisely our problem. We are suspended a divinis by the conciliar church, of which we do not want to be a part. This conciliar church is a schismatic church, because it breaks with the Catholic Church of all time. It has it’s new dogmas, it’s new priesthood, it’s new institutions, it’s new liturgy" (July 29, 1976);
"Which Church are we talking about? Are we talking about the Catholic Church, or another church, a counter church, a counterfeit of the Church? Now, I think sincerely, that we are talking about a counterfeit version of the Church, and not the Catholic Church ... The Church is occupied by this counter-church" (June 21, 1978)
