German Catholic Bishops’ Document on ‘Sexual Diversity’ in Schools Signals Deep Spiritual Crisis

In a hard-hitting interview with Dr. Thomas Ward, President of the John Paul II Academy for Human Life and the Family (JAHLF), renowned German Catholic sociologist and author Gabriele Kuby denounced the German bishops’ conference’s recent document endorsing the “diversity of sexual identities” in Catholic schools. In the interview, published in the latest issue of The Academy Review, Kuby called the document the latest and most alarming manifestation of the German hierarchy’s decades-long rebellion against the Church’s teaching on sexual morality.
The document itself, called “Created, Redeemed, and Loved: Visibility and Recognition of the Diversity of Sexual Identities in the School,” was published on 30 October 2025 by the German bishops’ conference under Archbishop Georg Bätsing. It declares that “the diversity of sexual identities is a fact” and it instructs Catholic schools to accept pupils’ self-identification as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, or non …

Bishop Schneider defies Traditionis Custodes: During his current stay in Brazil, Bishop Athanasius Schneider celebrated Mass in the Roman Rite at the Cathedral of Nossa Senhora das Dores in Caruaru, Pernambuco. Bishop José Ruy Gonçalves Lopes, 58, of Caruaru was present at the Mass. According to Traditionis Custodes (2021) a diocesan bishop cannot authorize the public celebration of the 1962 Missal in his cathedral without the Holy See, which is practically always denied.

I would be happy to applaud Bishop Schneider if I believed his celebration of the TLM in defiance of the Modernists’ TC was a step in the direction of rejecting the Novus Ordo Mass and the false teaching of Vatican II, but doubt very much that it is.
He’s like so many who genuinely sense that they should be living very different lives but lack the spiritual fortitude to make the change—most likely out of fear of reaction from his confreres and personal supporters
Still, I pray that I’m wrong, because a shift on his part would greatly please God and encourage many others to follow.

IF SCIENCE STILL CANNOT EXPLAIN, THERE ARE ONLY TWO OPTIONS: TO BELIEVE OR NOT TO BELIEVE🇻🇦
Saint Bernardette Soubirous of Lourdes died in 1879 at the age of 35. Her body was excavated due to the process of canonization and to the surprise of doctors and examiners alike, her body was completely intact. Her teeth and nails were found incorrupt and perhaps equally compelling was the fact that the Rosary in her hands was still wet so many years after her death.
Bernardette still has liquid blood flowing through her body. If she were alive today she would be 181 years old🇻🇦

Bishop Eleganti: By Its Own Admission, Islam is an Anti-Christian Religion

Bishop Eleganti’s comments stand in stark contrast to Pope Leo’s recent statements.
On January 25, 1986, Pope John Paul II announced the first multi-religious World Day of Prayer for Peace, which took place on October 27 of the same year. It was attended by 150 representatives of various religious groups, including the Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, representatives of Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, and Sikhism, Inamullah Khan from the Islamic World Congress, and the Chief Rabbi of Rome, Elio Toaff, to name but a few.
Further meetings followed with different emphases: in 1993, 2002, 2011, and 2016.
As far as the interfaith meetings in Assisi were concerned, there were concerns from curia officials and bishops from the very beginning. They wondered whether this meeting of non-Catholic and non-Christian religious leaders was not dangerously close to “the heresy of syncretism.”[1] Above all, did these meetings not ipso facto place all religious traditions on the same level? “How could the pope …

Second Week of Advent, Sunday
We continue posting daily Advent reflections by the Church Fathers. It's a good way to prepare to celebrate Christmas. The reflections and quotations come from the book titled, Advent and Christmas with the Church Fathers by Marco Pappalardo.
Introduction
Praying is stretching a hand toward the Infinite. You are always heard. And no one ever really knows what he or she is asking. It is a loving dialogue between our own lowliness and the greatness of God. Our meager words, silence, abandonment, and meditation rise and go to the heavens. God will never hold back his hand when we turn to him with a sincere heart, with our limitations, and with our journey of faith.

Real Mercy Includes Admonishment - Catholic Exchange

As I sit before the Tabernacle this morning in prayer, I repeat the Jesus Prayer slowly to myself: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. As I do, questions I often ask myself circulate in the background of my mind: What is mercy? What does it mean to ask Jesus to be merciful to me in my times of difficulty and struggle? What does it mean for me as a Catholic to be merciful to my fellows who struggle with addiction, same-sex attraction, and sexual identity confusion?
The answer to this question is not as complex as many would have us believe. It is laid out structurally in Scripture. So the issue isn’t a lack of clear guidance, but whether we are willing to yield our understanding of mercy to Jesus and accept that true mercy sometimes stings.
To begin living a truly merciful life, I have to be honest with myself about what I mean when I ask God to have mercy on me. In general, outside of the Jesus Prayer, when I ask God for mercy, what I, and many others I know …

Franciscan Media to close at end of 2025 amid larger downturn in Catholic news media

(OSV News) — Franciscan Media, a long-running U.S.-based Catholic news and evangelization outlet, has announced it will shut down at the end of 2025, amid a broader contraction in Catholic news outlets and wider shifts in the journalism industry itself.
“After much prayer, discernment, and heartfelt conversation, the Franciscan Friars of the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe have reached the difficult decision to conclude the operations of Franciscan Media as of the end of 2025,” said the outlet in a message posted to its website and emailed to supporters Dec. 5.

The organization — known until 2011 as St. Anthony Messenger and publishing a flagship magazine of the same name — offered a number of free subscriptions, along with extensive evangelization and inspirational content in print, digital and multimedia formats.
Founded by Franciscan friars in 1893, the outlet and similar Franciscan initiatives strove to engage the laity with the faith and the example …
