[Saint Catherine of Bologna – XV Century AD; Bologna/Bologna (aged 49); Virgin; Mystic; Spiritual Writer; Teacher; Artist] '[VII] Of the Seventh Weapon. (1) Of the seventh weapon I will elaborate more at length. I will do this in order to make clear a subtle trick played on one of the first sisters by the enemy of our salvation. This is the reason that I have been moved to write the present little book as a warning and instruction for all the novice sisters who are here at present or will follow in the future in this monastery, the salvation of whom, together with that of all rational creatures, I have so desired. With the frequent and daily demand of divine help it seemed to me that in a brief time I would lack the natural powers of my fragile body, so that even with great violence I could scarcely finish compiling this book. The great weakness caused me to tremble, not only in the hand, but also in the head and throughout my body. I would be content, for love of Christ Jesus, if …More
'And be on guard that you are not deceived by the mere appearance of good, for the devil sometimes appears in the appearance of Christ or of the virgin Mary or in the shape of an angel of a saint. Therefore, in every apparition that occurs, take up the weapon of Scripture which shows how the mother of Christ comported herself when the angel Gabriel appeared to her. She said to him: “What is this greeting?” (Lk 1.29).'

The Catholic parish of Guissona, a small town in the province of Lleida in Catalonia, Spain, has introduces passages from the Quran into its Epiphany celebration on January 5, during a traditional procession, reports InfoVaticana.com. The parish wrote on its Instagram account that the initiative forms part of what it described as an “inclusive process” developed over the past two years. This process takes into account “the religion of the different kings and pages” participating in the celebration. During the ceremony, passages from the Quran were read alongside the Gospels. The parish, which belongs to the Catholic Diocese of Urgell, defended the decision as a way of conveying a shared “message of peace” among people of different faiths. Furthermore, the kissing of the statue of the Baby Jesus was omitted. The parish explained that such a gesture was considered inappropriate for Muslims. #newsIeavpfurgw

he saw a few old buggers on Thursday Note the three button link below this line … Bishop Felix Genn of Münster, Germany, has faced significant criticism and complaints regarding his handling of sexual abuse cases within his diocese, particularly following a damning 2022 report that covered decades of misconduct . While he has admitted to making mistakes, he has refused to resign, arguing that his actions did not constitute a cover-up Bishop Oscar Domingo Sarlinga In 2008, he was the focus of an unsuccessful plot to remove Cardinal Bergoglio from his office of Archbishop of Buenos Aires due to conflict between Bergoglio and the Kirchner administration. It would have had Bergoglio moved to a curial office in Rome and had Sarlinga become his replacement as Archbishop. Sarlinga has confirmed that the plot existed, though he denies involvement in it. Along with this guy - Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández for additional training....OOOOOO That's a very good idea
The Holy See’s labor office is pushing back on claims of widespread worker dissatisfaction after an internal survey by the Association of Vatican Lay Employees (ADLV) alleged distrust of leadership and instances of workplace bullying. In an interview with the official Vatican News outlet, Monsignor Marco Sprizzi, president of the Office of Labor of the Apostolic See (ULSA), said his office “always has its doors open” and stressed that its mission is to ensure “there are no situations in which employees’ rights are not respected or are violated in any way.” “It doesn’t seem to me that the discontent is widespread,” Sprizzi said, noting that the survey sample was “very small,” amounting to “less than 5% of employees.”
In these days, once again our nation turns its eyes toward the border. Emotions run high. Accusations fly freely. Cries for compassion echo from many quarters – including from within the Church herself. These conversations are necessary. But they must be rooted in truth. For compassion without truth is not charity; it is sentiment divorced from justice The Church must always be a mother – never a manager. She must always love – never exploit. She must always speak – never remain silent when souls are endangered. The Church is called by Christ to welcome the stranger, to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, and to care for the vulnerable. These are not optional works of mercy; they flow from the Gospel itself. At the same time, the Church is also bound to uphold justice, order, and the common good. These are not opposing principles. They are inseparable. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches clearly that political authorities have the right and the duty to regulate migration in …More
Some of the raddest Trads fail to reject the errors found in the Novus Ordo and the textual problems of Vatican II, proposing instead to rewrite the very constitution of the Church. A new offering from Vinicius.
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is standing room only. Thousands of pilgrims, hundreds of clergy, and dozens of bishops filled the church tonight for the Opening Mass of the National Prayer Vigil for Life — united in prayer for the protection of every human life.
Well they got a nice sized crowd in D.C. at least. From where I'm at, the "March for Life" was very low-key & downplayed. Used to be they sent all types of youth groups, seminarians, etc to the March. But this year- NOTHING except a mention at Mass yesterday, and that NOT even in the homily but only opening remarks and "prayers of the faithful" [General Intercessions] that made sure to "balance" the Right to Life with all sorts of seamless garment stuff like immigration, poverty, & mental health!

In theory, Immigration and Customs Enforcement describes itself as “the Department of Homeland Security’s premier law enforcement agency, mitigating transnational threats and safeguarding our nation, communities, lawful immigration, trade, travel and financial systems.” In practice, the Trump administration has turned legions of ICE agents into a violent and unaccountable domestic police force, empowered by claims of immunity to exercise force against American citizens and immigrants alike. A 233-page court order issued Nov. 20 by Sara L. Ellis, a federal judge in the Northern District of Illinois, reveals the scope of duplicity, lying and open abuse of power by ICE and Homeland Security officials. She addressed civilian complaints that ICE violated constitutional rights during its pursuit …More

House Republicans are pushing to hold former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress over the Jeffrey Epstein probe, a move that, if successful, could send them to prison. Es ist das erste Mal, dass das Repräsentantenhaus eine seiner schärfsten Strafmaßnahmen gegen einen ehemaligen Präsidenten anwendet.

Vatican employees are “demotivated, tired of their complicated relationship with curial leadership, and often even bullied”. This is the result of the first representative survey conducted among Vatican staff. The poll was carried out between 15 September and 7 January and drew responses from 250 employees, 80% of them members of the ADLV, an internal association similar to a union. Trade unions are not formally recognized in the Vatican. The Holy See employs about 4,200 people, most of whom are not members of the ADLV, reportedly for fear of internal repercussions. The survey paints a bleak picture of working conditions under Pope Francis, described as marked by “extremely high points of friction.” The arrival of Pope Leo XIV has raised cautious hopes, notably after he restored the conclave bonus that Francis had abolished. Key findings underline widespread discontent: - 75.9% say human resources are poorly placed, valued, and motivated. - 73.9% perceive a disconnect between workers …More
