~this photo was taken by a photographer from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, a short distance from the Missionaries of Charity AIDS house in North East Washington, D.C. It was a VERY early morning Mass and our son, only six weeks old, was the first visitor she welcomed. He slept through the entire encounter. Mother Teresa was in a wheel chair and so small that they had a laundry detergent box under her feet. She thought our son was a girl and so she said, "I hope *she* becomes a Missionary of Charity."

@Dr Stuart Reiss, the priest I worked for who gave several retreats for her sisters and brought us to the Mass said the same: "If she had known he was a boy, she would have said, 'We have priests and brothers too.'" At one particular retreat in that same location, I got to work with the sisters for a day. I've never forgotten how overjoyed they were to put the very best of everything they had before …More

Tom for his meal and how he fussed that it was too much.
