The Compassion of St Margaret.
A princess from an Anglo Saxon royal house, Margaret fled England in 1068 and landed in Scotland, where she became Queen. Famed for her charity, Margaret frequently visited and cared for the sick, and had hostels constructed for the poor. At Advent and Lent, she held feasts for as many as three hundred commoners. This stained glass window of the Saint is from St Alban's Episcopal church in Washington DC.
