Mark 8:31;31 He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.

Being rejected is never easy. Most of us love to offer to others ourselves, our experience, our wisdom, etc. We feel truly terrible when we get misunderstood thinking we have been judged unfairly. Our familiar and comfortable ways we have shared in the past get thwarted and put down. We can hardly believe it has happened to us. I was in a church recently with a new parish priest. He came into the congregation and chose those he felt it would be good to work with, his “inside team”. I did not get chosen and I struggled with that. I had been on the “inside team” with the last priest. I had to swallow the feelings I had of being sabotaged or undermined by who knows who. The light came on one day when I saw things begin to change all over the parish. Time heals things in the most surprising ways. Actually, Time re-calibrates so many situations and reveals the wonder of God and His plan. The priest did choose me eventually, to do things I never dreamed I would ever be able to do or even wanted to.
